Is Chat GPT that “Smart”?

The artificial intelligence (AI) has transitioned from a distant vision of the future to a tangible reality, shaping the way we live, work, and interact.

Among the most revolutionary advancements in this field is ChatGPT, a state-of-the-art language model developed by OpenAI, which has captivated the world with its ability to understand and generate human-like text.

Recently I was wonering wheter the popular Chat GPT can solve a simple challenge, part of an IQ test and the results were a bit shocking.

Here is the question I asked Chat GPT:

Which number logically follows this series?

7 9 5 11 ;  4 15 12 7 ; 13 8 11 ?

Here is what Chat GPT replied:

• 4, 15, 12, 7 (4 plus 15 equals 12 plus 7)

To solve the puzzle one should think “outside the box”, something that Chat GPT fails to deliver quite often in my opinion, still.

Yet, the future will tell best whether AI will get smarter and better.

In fact, I think the latter is just a matter of time.
